NASA Selects Construction Project Management Contractor


10 January 2013 – Washington, DC – NASA has announced the selection of Frontier-Arrowhead NASA Services Joint Venture of Kansas City, Missouri to manage and oversee construction projects at the agency’s Glenn Research Center in Cleveland and Plum Brook Station in Sandusky, Ohio.

nasaThe Construction Management, Inspection, Surveillance and Testing (CMIST) contract will help assure that there are safe, efficient, reliable and sustainable facilities and systems to support Glenn’s research and development mission.

The contract begins April 1 with an 18-month base period. It includes options to extend the work through March 31, 2018. If NASA exercises all options, the maximum potential value for the five-year, cost-plus-fixed-fee contract is $33.8 million.

Frontier-Arrowhead and its subcontractor, SAIC Inc. of Twinsburg, Ohio, will provide construction project management and inspection, building and life safety code compliance, surveying and testing support. Tasks include designing new construction and rehabilitating, modifying and repairing facilities at Glenn.
