Reported by Ana Maria Rodriguez in Argentina

15 April 2013 – Montevideo, Uruguay – Liliana Buchtik, PMP, PMI-RMP has announced the publication of the first book in Spanish about project risk management, Secretos para Dominar la Gestión de Riesgos en Proyectos (Secrets to Mastering Risk Management in Real-World Projects available in paperback and kindle editions.

la-gestion-de-riesgosAccording to Liliana: “I am so happy for being able to offer this invaluable resource, the first one on the topic in Spanish, to the project management Spanish speaking community in Latin America and the Caribbean, Spain, the Spanish community in the USA, and other parts of the world. The number of good and updated project management books in Spanish is still limited when compared to those in English so I am convinced this will be another successful book as my prior one published by Project Management Institute in the USA: Secrets to Mastering the WBS in Real World Projects.”

The book is the result not only of experience but also research done in the past years in project risk management. Following Lilliana’s known writing style, this 450 page book is very practical – 280 figures, screenshots, comparative charts, photos of real-world projects – and applicable to the real-world projects and mega projects. Inside, readers will find 25 risk management templates to use in their projects, the explanation of the steps and processes to manage project risks – opportunities and threats – typical risks of each project area of knowledge, lessons learned, best practices, close to 70 risk management tools with its advantages, disadvantages, and visual examples. It also offers cases, real- project examples from successful projects in Latin America, North America and other places. It includes an analysis of the characteristics of a good risk manager and a useful risk management plan, as well as a comprehensive revision of software available for risk analysis and for managing risks from planning to monitoring. There is an important treatment of soft skills for risk management to include communication, and other topics. It is also a fundamental resource for those looking for practical knowledge and examples to base their PMI-RMP® certification preparation studies.

The book is now in Spanish and the English version is planned for late 2013.
