David Pells honored by ISIPM in Rome



PM World Journal editor presented International Award, named Honorary Fellow of Instituto Italiano di Project Management

29 October 2018 – Rome, Italy – At the recently completed PM Expo 2018 https://www.pmexpo.it/, the major Italian event dedicated to project management and organized by Istituto Italiano di Project management (ISIPM), David L. Pells was introduced as the winner of the ISIPM 2018 International Award.  Pells, the managing editor of the PM World Journal and a keynote speaker at the PM Expo conference on 26 October in Rome, was also installed as an Honorary International Fellow of ISIPM.

According to Massimo Pirozzi, ISIPM Director who introduced the award presentation, “The 2018 ISIPM International Award is presented to David Pells, the creator and editor of the PM World Journal, the leading digital publication serving the global project management community.  Like ISIPM, the PM World Journal is independent and supports all project management standards and professionals worldwide.  We are really happy to have him here with us, to have his contribution to PM Expo this year.”

After receiving the award, Pells briefly introduced the audience to both the PM World Journal (www.pmworldjournal.net) and PM World Library (www.pmworldlibrary.net) websites.  He stated, “It’s a tremendous honor to receive this award, and very gratifying to have the PM World Journal recognized so positively.  We are happy to partner with ISIPM to advance the project management profession in Italy and worldwide.  I am also very impressed with the professional organization of this event, the large turnout and the quality of the presentations.” (photo: David Pells receiving award from Claudia Spagnuolo, ISIPM’s project manager of PM Expo 2018)

The PM Expo event takes place on a yearly basis in late October in Rome. International Seminars this year focused on Innovation: David Pells spoke about “Innovation 360! Views from a PM Globalist”, while Professor Darren Dalcher, Lancaster University in UK, spoke on “Who killed innovation? … and what we can do about it”.  Massimo Pirozzi presented “Stakeholder Perspective in Project Management: the effective innovativeness of people centrality”. Workshops covered different practical issues, including Agile. Registration this year was 1,700.

Istituto Italiano di Project Management (Italian Institute of Project Management, ISIPM for short) is the major Italian Association of Project Management. ISIPM is a non-profit independent cultural association which promotes both the knowledge and the diffusion of the Project Management discipline. ISIPM offers several PM certifications based on national requirements, activities and services around the country, and big annual PM Expo each October.  Over the last five years, in which ISIPM invested deeply in increasing quality of its delivered contents, services, and events, the Association became a center of competence and reference for Project Management in Italy.
