CONFERENCE THEME: Project Managing your Success

The 2016 KwaZulu Natal Regional Conference is about enhancing your own success as a project manager, and sharing how you have achieved success, or learned from failure in your strategic projects. The public and private sectors are increasingly delivering on their mandate and strategic objectives through projects. It’s an exciting time for project managers as notable transformation and infrastructure projects roll out across the country and the continent.

South Africa has a wealth of knowledge in successfully delivering projects and this conference is an opportunity to learn from that success. Delegates will be exposed to thought leadership, best practices, case studies and insight into projects that are shaping the region.

Presentations are invited that fall into one of the categories below:

  • Best practices: Proven methodologies and success stories on projects grown and / or delivered in South Africa and Africa
  • Research and Innovation: What we’ve learned and what we know about overcoming challenges that prohibit project success
  • Insights into the nature of project management as it applies to the region and the country
  • Technology: How IT and telecoms are enabling better project management
  • PM for the greater good: Applying project management to social causes. Including people, planet and profit in our project practices and realising some of the socioeconomic imperatives on the continent.
  • Applying ethical practice as project practitioners
  • Updating the project toolkit: Tips, tools and techniques that pave the way for effective project management.
  • Project People: Individual characteristics and traits that serve companies and individual practitioners when rolling out projects in the region and in South Africa.
