Project Management update from Argentina

During the PMI Leadership Meeting and Global Congress that was held in Vancouver, BC (Canadá) from Octuber 18th to 24th, the Buenos Aires and Nuevo Cuyo chapters of PMI received the Chapter of the year awards in their correspondent categories. Both chapters also received the Leadership, Operations and Planning award.

During the Community Awards Ceremony, the Buenos Aires received the Chapter of the Year Award in Category 2 (300 to 1000 members), according to PMI because its effort on maintaining and nurturing professional and personal relationships, which led the chapter to a 30% increase in membership and 90% retention rate during 2011. Ms. Cecilia Boggi, 2011 president of the Chapter was also recognized in the Community Awards Ceremony, due to her leadership skills leading the 80 volunteers of the chapter.

At the same event, The Nuevo Cuyo chapter received the Chapter of the Year Award in the Category 1 (Chapters with less than 300 members), according to PMI because its efforts to take the Project Management Profession to all the Cuyo Region in Argentina, and the high level of activity that the chapter has since its foundation 2 years ago.

During the Professional Awards Ceremony, Mr. Pablo Lledó, past president of Nuevo Cuyo, received the Distinguished Contribution Award.  Mr. Lledó contribution to the growth of the profession is based on his experience training more than 12,000 executives in Project Management, and the fact that he has written 8 books in the field.
