Project Management in Spain: Monthly report

ITH (Hotel trade Technological Institute) and AEDIP signed up a collaboration agreement

AEDIP and ITH signed up a framework agreement for knowledge transfer that will mean to provide the hotel trade with Project management models from the real state, which main objective is cost control and to guarantee some results; they are two key factors for the investment and restoration of several hotel buildings. Project Management is a successful management model to manage all the resources used along the Project life cycle, minimizing cost and risk and trying the best results to be the sponsors and rest of project stakeholders’ satisfaction. From September 2012 there is a ISO regulation on Project Management, after 50 years of PM implementation in around 170 countries and around one million professionals and managers over the world.

This agreement that has been signed by the ITH President, Mr. Juan Molas; and the AEDIP President, Jordi Seguró, considers exchanges activities regarding common knowledge and projects that will provide to the hotel trade qualified information regarding Project Management, as a real state Project management model; its advantages from the cost and guarantees point of view. Furthermore, its capacity to achieve strict standards, regardless the environmental conditions in which the project is being developed, facilitating the planning activities in the hotel trade expansion, especially for international destinations.

Alfonso Bucero, MSc, PMP, PMI Fellow, is an International Correspondent and Contributing Editor for the PM World Journal in Madrid, Spain.
