Greece to host truly International Congress

IPMA’s Greek Member Association (PM-Greece) will host the IPMA World Congress 2012 on the island of Crete. Running from 29th to 31 October 2012, the Congress will be preceded by the annual Young Crew Workshop for professionals in the early stages of their career.

IPMA President Roberto Mori (pictured left) and Congress Chair John-Paris Pantouvakis have met, reviewed all aspects and are very pleased to confirm that all aspects are on course for a successful Congress – with a difference.  IPMA President Roberti Mori has said:  “This is good news. We always review each Congress again at this time – with about eight weeks to go.”

This year is clearly special – the world is in some economic and political uncertainty, with Greece facing some special circumstances.  However the arrangements are going according to plan with delegate bookings rising daily.  This shows the strong delegate interest in the speakers, papers and posters.

The venue, the lovely Creta Maris Beach Resort, offers a delightful location in which to bring together the IPMA Family and the wider project management community coming together for a memorable and influential gathering.

Congress Chair John-Paris Pantouvakis (pictured right) added: “This is a difficult period for Greece. That is certain – and it will continue for some time.  We have been greatly encouraged by the positive support and encouragement for the Congress from many sources.

Naturally there remains more to finalise and announce – but that is normal and natural we have been in this position before with previous national and international conferences and events.  We can assure all our visitors and participants of the very warmest welcome, great value and a memorable experience.”

Crete is one of the most popular islands in Greece.  The congress will be held at the exclusive 5 star Creta Maris Beach Resort where the dialogue for the advancement of academic and professional project management will meet 5,000 years of history, idyllic beaches and a bouquet of fascinating parallel activities.  Mark your calendars and plan to attend the 2012 IPMA World Congress on Project Management.
