Ewa Bednarczyk joins PM World Correspondents Network in Poland

30 September 2012 – PM World Inc has announced that Ewa Bednarczyk has been appointed an International Correspondent for the organization in Kraków, Poland.  Active in the project management profession in Poland and internationally, Ms. Bednarczyk will report about professional developments within the IPMA Excellence Awards program worldwide and around Kraków.

Ewa Bednarczyk currently works for the International Project Management Association (IPMA) where she has administered the IPMA International Project Excellence Award Office since 2007. She is responsible for the coordination of the projects’ assessment process, including organization of the assessors training, assessors’ team composition, preparation of the Jury and final reports. She is the first contact person for the current and potential applicants and those who are interested in the Project Excellence Model. Moreover she supports the establishment of national Project Excellence Awards among IPMA member associations around the world.

In year 2010-2012 Ewa served as the IPMA-Pl Vice President responsible for the Polish Project Excellence Award. Additionally Ewa is the owner of the training company pm2pm located in  Poland which mainly prepares to the IPMA certification. Ewa graduated from the Kraków University of Economics and Avans Hogeschool in Breda. She is an IPMA Level-D certificate holder. In her free time she regularly plays squash and treks. Her favorite destination is Nepal. She is also a partner in a company pm2pm sp. z o.o. which offers project management trainings in Poland. Pm2pm mainly trains candidates for the IPMA certification. Kraków (sometimes spelled Cracow) is one of the largest and oldest cities in Poland.  With a population of 1.5 million in the Kraków-Tarnów region and situated on the Vistula river, the city dates to the 7th century. It was the capital of Poland from 1038 to 1596, the capital of the Grand Duchy of Kraków from 1846 to 1918, and the capital of Kraków Voivodeship from the 14th century to 1999. It is now the capital of the Lesser Poland Voivodeship.

Kraków is one of Poland’s most important economic centres. Its population has quadrupled since the end of World War II. The private sector is growing, with offshoring of information technology (IT) work recent years becoming important to the economy of Kraków. There are about 20 large multinational companies in Kraków, including Google, IBM, General Electric, Capgemini, Motorola, and Sabre Holdings, along with other British and German-based firms.

Poland, officially the Republic of Poland, is a country in Central Europe bordered by Germany to the west; the Czech Republic and Slovakia to the south; Ukraine, Belarus and Lithuania to the east; and the Baltic Sea and Kaliningrad Oblast, a Russian exclave, to the north. The area of Poland is 312,679 square kilometres, making it the 69th largest country in the world and the 9th largest in Europe.
