Introduction to the Book

‘Plan for success or rush into failure is a good beginning.’ The Author’s objective and message are spelled out in preface. ‘Every year we improve’ are inspiring words and give a positive beginning for the book.

Overview of Book’s Structure

It is well thought out. The purpose of the book is spelled out in the preface. The Author was trying to help people who want to broaden the experience.  The chapters are well designed with graphs, syntax and semantics. Quotes are thought provoking; the flow is captivating.

The Appendices are very useful for understanding the verbage. Appendix C is really works for project managers who want to bring change in organization’s culture.

Highlights: What’s New in this Book?

The Author gave us new tools to define KPDs (Key Performance Drivers) to bring the change at accelerated pace.

Highlights: What I liked!

I liked Quotes in every beginning of a new chapter and at the end of the chapter. It is a treasury of quotes. I can understand the Author’s purpose and message just by reading the quotes from the book. What is interesting is, the Author could relate behaviors/habits, organization’s culture and long-term performance.

In chapter 4, I liked Key performance goals for next 5 years.  Appendix A and Appendix C got my attention and they are really useful for understanding the theory.
