John-Paris Pantouvakis, PhD, is a an Associate Professor of Construction Management and the Director of the Department of Construction Engineering and Management, Faculty of Civil Engineering, at the National University of Athens.  He is also a Postgraduate Coordinator and Lecturer at  the Hellenic Open University.  One of the leading advocates of professional project management in Greece, Professor Pantouvakis is Founder and President of the Network of Project Managers in Greece (PM-Greece), the national member of the International Project Management Association (IPMA) and the International Cost Engineering Council (ICEC).  He has published many papers, books, reports and professional articles on construction management, information technologies and project management; participated in many PM-related research projects over the last 20 years, and co-organized various PM-related conferences, workshops and scientific events.  He is a member of various scientific and professional organizations, including the International Council for Research and Innovation in Building and Construction (CIB), the Technical Chamber of Greece (TCG) and the Association of Greek Civil Engineers (ASEG).  John-Paris is the Founder and Director of the Centre for Construction Innovation, National Technical University of Athens, has served as a member of the Hellenic Organization for Standardization Committee for the development of the Greek Project Management Standard for the Quality Assurance of National Strategic Development Plan (NSDP) projects 2007-2013 and has served as a State Arbitrator in private public technical disputes for major construction projects in Greece. He is an active IPMA Award Assessor and a First Assessor for the IPMA Certification 4L System in Greece. Professor Panouvakis holds a PhD in Computer Science and an M.Sc. degree in Information Technology from the University of Nottingham, UK, and a degree in Civil Engineering from the National Technical University of Athens.
