Ömer completed the 16-week program in just four weeks, a new record.

Previously, he has served as an Officer on Watch for over 30 months on board chemical tankers, based in different routes all round the world where he served Third and Second Officer. He completed his graduation in Marine Transportation Management dual diploma with honours from both Istanbul Technical University, Turkey and State University of New York Maritime College, USA in 2014. Major Field of Study: Project Management, Stakeholders Management, Logistics and Inter-Modal Transportation

According to PM World Library Director David Pells, “Ömer came to us highly recommended by his supervising professor at the University of Southampton. He was motivated to contribute and very interested in the research involved. He primarily contributed resources related to project management in marine industries, the field where he’s already had experience. This was an entire new topic for the PM World Library and quite welcome.”

According to Ömer, “I thought this internship might be very interesting and useful, and it was true. I learned more about project management research, how it can be useful in so many industries and types of projects. This experience will help me during my studies of project management and on future researches. I advise all project management students and project-interested people to live this experience. I hope I can continue to contribute to the library and to PM World.”

Pells added, “Omer did a great job for us. He started in early January and finished at the end of the month, delivering four research results at a time; I could not keep up with him. We still have several of his research results to post in the library. But it was great and impressive. It’s nice to see such interest in project management by young professionals and students.”
