Global experts Russell Archibald and Darci Prado to share research results and knowledge about project management maturity in organizations

11 January 2014 – Dallas, London, Sydney – PM World has announced the publication of a new series of articles on the topic of Maturity in Project Management.  Authored by Darci Prado and Russell Archibald, two well-known and globally-respected project management authorities, the articles will appear monthly in the PMWJ during 2014.  Their first article titled “Introduction to Maturity in Project Management” appeared in the January edition.  To read it, click here.

According to David Pells, PMWJ Managing Editor, “We are happy to launch this new series of articles on project management maturity, an increasingly important topic for both organizations and project executives around the world.  Russ and Darci are experts on this topic, have conducted significant research among organizations in Brazil and elsewhere, and have significant information to share.”

According to Archibald and Prado in their first article: “Hundreds of ‘Project Management Maturity Models’ have been developed and used in the past two decades with the objective of measuring the level of project management maturity within all types of enterprises and for most of the many categories of projects. These models range from simple to very complex. The most widely used of these models have been developed primarily for large, complex organizations, and these have become excellent sources of business for specialized consultants.”

In their first article, they explain terms and concepts, describe some of the leading project management maturity models, and introduce their own experiences and research results. Their second article titled “The Importance of Knowing Your Project, Program and Portfolio Management Maturity: PPPMM” will appear in the February PMWJ.
