Call for Papers for 5th International Scientific Conference on Project Management in the Baltic States

30 September 2015 – Riga, Latvia – The Call for Papers has been issued for the 5th International Scientific Conference on Project Management in the Baltic States to be held in Riga, Latvia during 14-15 April 2016. Under the theme “Project Management Development – Practice and Perspectives”, the conference will be held at the University of Latvia. Abstracts will be accepted through 15 November 2015. The aim of the conference is to discuss results of scientific research in project management issues, to establish new contacts and networking between professionals involved in project management as well as enhance the capacity of project managers.

In 2016 we will have 5th anniversary that the Economics and Management Faculty of the University of Latvia together with the Professional Association of Project managers organize an international conference on project management, gathering professionals from a number of countries.

In 2015 twenty countries were represented (Latvia, Estonia, Germany, Spain, Russia, Hungary, Iran, United Kingdom, Poland, Australia, Italy, Norway, Palestine, Finland, Belgium, Turkey, Portugal, Romania, Lithuania and other), and in 2016 several others are expected to join in. The conference aims to host a vast exchange of ideas, thoughts, and experience in the benefits of applying project management to resolving practical problems.

Conference language is English. Project management researchers, educators and experts are invited to submit an abstract for paper and presentation on one or more of the following topics:

  1. Project management in public administration,
  2. Problems and solutions in EU funds project management (implementation),
  3. Public-Private-Partnership project management,
  4. Investment project management,
  5. Culture project management,
  6. IT project management,
  7. Construction project management,
  8. Renewable Energy Projects,
  9. Social project management,
  10. Standards on project management,
  11. Professional education and science in project management,
  12. Capacity of organization in project management,
  13. Project Accounting and Auditing,
  14. New directions and findings in project management theory,
  15. Project controlling,
  16. Project Risk Management,
  17. Project finance,
  18. Social aspects in Project management,
  19. Marketing, innovation, creativity in project management.

Sections will be designed according to themes of accepted abstracts. The conference programme will include opening plenary session, parallel sessions and concluding plenary session. Scientific papers presented at the conference will be published in the conference proceedings and on the conference website. All abstracts before the conference will be double blind reviewed and materials included in the conference proceedings are double blind reviewed. Key dates:

15 November 2016 – Applications for participation at the conference and submission of abstract (see requirements)

20 December 2015 – Notification of acceptance and invitation to prepare report

30 December 2015 – Reduced conference fee ends

8 February 2016 – Submission of paper for conference proceedings

28 February 2016 – Information on paper acceptance, feedback from reviewers

18 March 2016 – Deadline for revised papers. Detailed conference programme
