AXELOS launches enhanced P3M3® allowing online self-assessment

PM INDUSTRY NEWS

12 March 2014 – London, UK – AXELOS has announced the launch of a new addition to its Portfolio, Programme, and Project Management Maturity Model (P3M3), which will enable users to carry out an online self-assessment.  P3M3 provides a highly effective performance assessment tool measuring organizational performance in portfolio, programme and project management. It covers management of a range of business disciplines, from risk and resource to finance and governance

140312-pmwj21-enhanced-IMAGEP3M3 has helped organizations across the world save costs through increased efficiency and process improvements. For example, Transport for London (TfL) estimates it has achieved   nearly £1bn of savings over five years through increasing its P3M3 maturity from Level one (2007) to nearly Level four (2012).

Users now benefit from a free online assessment tool – called ‘standard’ self-assessment – which provides a top level indication of process maturity. The service includes the publications ‘Introduction to P3M3’ and the ‘P3M3 Self-assessment User Guide’, which can be downloaded in PDF format.

A more advanced, paid-for self-assessment service – called ‘enhanced’ self-assessment – includes the functionality of the standard self-assessment tool plus a results tracker and benchmarking capability. Enhanced subscribers will receive more detailed information about their results, allowing users to fully assess and understand their maturity in greater detail.

Both the “Standard” self-assessment and “enhanced” self-assessment have been published by TSO (The Stationery Office) AXELOS’ official publisher.

Peter Hepworth, AXELOS CEO, said “Organizations around the world are striving to identify competitive and performance advantage from improved efficiency and delivery. P3M3 is valued by organizations as a way of assessing current performance and putting in place improvement plans. The online self-assessment provides users with an easy way to record, track and benchmark their maturity.”

According to Lucy de Best, Commissioning Director at AXELOS’ official publisher TSO (The Stationery Office), “The evolution of P3M3 into version three has been undertaken and overseen by industry experts. TSO is pleased to work with AXELOS to be able to offer, for the first time, P3M3 self-assessment as an online service. The online self-assessment is a great way to better understand current performance, identify areas of weakness and initiate improvement plans.”
