Community of Project Managers in Guayaquil, Ecuador
The PMI Ecuador Chapter was founded in March 2010, in Quito, the capital city of Ecuador. Since April 2012, the PMI Ecuador Chapter began formal and frequent activities in Guayaquil, Ecuador’s first city with more than 2.2 million inhabitants.
During 2012, the PMI Ecuador Chapter offered events for project managers and the community. This is a summary of the activities offered:
First PMI event in Guayaquil
The first event organized by PMI Ecuador Chapter in Guayaquil was held on April 2012 with over 120 participants. Mr. David Hinojosa made a presentation on Quality Management in Projects. This occasion was also the first time the PMI Chapter Ecuador broadcast the event live online.

Irwin José Franco, MS, PMP, CSM, CSPO is a Project Manager at Image Tech, a leading web and multimedia solutions company based in Guayaquil, Ecuador. Irwin has a B.A. in Visual Communications from Universidad San Francisco de Quito in Quito, Ecuador, and a Master degree in Project Management (Specialization in Information Technology) from Universidad La Salle in Madrid, Spain. Since 2000, Irwin has developed and managed more than 100 IT projects, including Mobile Solutions, E-commerce and E-banking solutions, content management systems (CMS), corporate software and multimedia products. He has developed solutions for the telecommunications, mass media, tourism and financial sectors. Irwin is also a Project Management Professor at ESPAE Graduate School of Management. Mr. Franco is an active member of the Project Management Institute (PMI®) and recently he was elected for second time as a Vice President of Professional Development Services at PMI Ecuador chapter.
